The synagogue in Kaluga, built in 1913, was closed by the Bolsheviks in 1927 and returned to the local community with the help of Chabad in 2013. After restoration and renovation, it reopened in 2015 and became a vibrant spiritual center for Kaluga’s Jews. The Rebbe’s shluchim work tirelessly with all segments of the population—children, youth, men, and women—by offering Torah classes and educational activities. Additionally, the shluchim provides food packages for the elderly and needy and holds holiday prayers with over 200 participants at peak times. During the High Holidays, the shluchim organize full festive meals and a lulav campaign for hundreds of Jews, with assistance from young men who come from outside the city to help. This important work requires significant resources, and the shluchim relies on your support to continue and expand these essential activities.
