Illuminations Parshas Pinchus
CLICK HERE FOR FULL-COLOR PRINT VERSIONThis week’s IllumiNations features Rabbi Moshe and Miriam Moskovitz of the Jewish Community of Kharkov, Ukraine, and their courageous shlichus after the fall of the Soviet Union. Arriving with a young child, no Russian, and no safety net, they found a Jewish community starving for Yiddishkeit after decades of Communist suppression. From over 1,000 people crowding into shul to see a “real rabbi,” to children filling Sunday school, to schools and a thriving community eventually being built, the story shows the Rebbe’s vision coming alive. The issue also highlights Ahron, a Jew who had a bris later in life and embraced tefillin and Chassidishe niggunim with pure joy, showing how deeply a Yiddishe neshama can awaken when given warmth and connection.
